My career in writing about healthcare, people, and cannabis comes from 20 years in content creation and healthcare research.

Why content writing and strategy? Coming from a multicultural family, I was interested in the differences and similarities between people. Writing about people and places has always been a passion and it led me to visit about 30 countries and live abroad.

Why health? I was always interested when my dad, a doctor, would talk about medical cases. Biology, anatomy, and chemistry were among my favorite subjects. Torn between a creative path and science, science temporarily won and I became a clinical research coordinator from 2009 to 2014 for two of the biggest hospitals (BMC, MGH) in Boston. Then I worked remotely as a chart abstractor in oncology for a successful tech company, Flatiron Health, from 2014 to 2018. Those nine years gave me a deep familiarity with research protocols, challenges for healthcare practitioners and patients, and oncological treatments.

When I transitioned back into creative content, my writing niches naturally became health research, healthcare, health technology, and the newly legalized cannabis industry. I’ve spent years producing content for successful brands, including The Boston Globe, Flatiron Health, Buoy Health, Orbita.ai, BC Platforms, Wolters Kluwer, Zocdoc, Teladoc Health, InformedDNA, Sterling IRB, Leafly, Cannasure, Trew Marketing, and many others.

I was lucky to be hired as lead content strategist of MERGE from 2021 to 2023, primarily auditing websites. I still use strategy skills as a freelancer to help my clients make sense of their content, with all of its strengths and opportunities, and to offer key recommendations to help them achieve their business goals. My strategy clients include health systems (Atlantic Health System, Broward Health, IU Health, Sparrow Health, and UConn Health), payors (GEHA, Coverys), and pharma/device enterprises (Supernus, Boston Scientific, and Radius).
